 Point 2 : 선행의 it
이때의 it를 선행의 it이라 하는데, 가주어 it과 가목적어 it로 쓰인다.

It’s five o’clock. (5

What time is it?

It is three years since I left school.

It is very bright out there.

It’s getting dark.

 Point 5 : 상황의 it

How is it with your business?

It is well with him.

It is all over with me.

We will fight it out against our enemy.

It’s my turn.

Take it easy.

That’s it.

I can’t make it.

It seems that he is honest.

2009. 4. 28. 14:28 Posted by chanyi

1. 개념-definition
부사란, 어떤 일이 언제[when], 어디서[where], 왜[why], 어떤 조건으로 [under what conditions], 어느정도로[ to what degree an action occurred or a situation existed] 일어났는 가를 나타내는 말로, 보통 -ly로 끝나지요. 그래서 부사는 언제[when], 어디[where], 왜[why], 어떤 조건 아래 [under what conditions], 어느 정도로[ to what degree an action occurred or a situation existed]에 대한 대답이라 할 수 있는데, 이들이 하는 일은 꾸밈받는 말의 정보를 추가하는 일입니다.

A word which describes or gives more information about a verb, adjective, adverb or phrase.-Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary

How did he drive? He drove slowly.

How fast was his car? He drove a very fast car.

How slowly did she move? She moved quite slowly down the aisle.

Jack runs quickly.
This puzzle is unquestionably difficult.
She lives here.
We are going to the market Friday.

John speaks loudly. (How does John speak?)
Mary lives locally. (Where does Mary live?)
She never smokes. (When does she smoke?)
Jack runs quickly.
She lives here.
We are going to the market Friday.

    수능어법 900제
    보충설명:

    (7)  seems 와 seem  구별이;;;

There (seems/seem) to be some accurate information about the man's crime.

    (20) got 이 시키다 아닌가요? 원형부정사로... 왜 to read인지;;;

    (22) crossing 은 왜 안되죠?;;

He helped an old lady (to cross/crossing) the street this morning.

         observe 관찰하다는 to 부정사를 못취하는 동사인가요? (43)번도 그러던데;;;

    I have observed /the lecturer (loving student's curiosity) (to answer/answering) a question.

He tired (to put/puting) on the bus.
If the toy doesn't work, just try (to push/pushing) the start button.

    (78)    The men want to stop (to smoke/smoking) knowing the fact that it is bad for their watch.

    (79) He stopped (looking/to look) into the shop, then he decided to buy a new watch.

There seems to be + 단수명사 (위의지문에서 some confusion은 추상명사로 = 단수명사

(1) If you leave the company. 이어지는 주 문장은 미래시제로 you will find it difficult to get a new job.

If you will leave the company...

(Ex) ․If you will excuse me, I'll be on my way.

    (b) Q: If you leave the company...

If he leave the company.. If you leave the company..

If you left the company, you would find it difficult to get a new job.

(Ex) If we didn't go to their party next week, they would be angry.

If we don't go to their party next week, they will be angry.

If oil is mixed with water, it floats.

․If I wash the dishes, my wife dries them.

․If his father said, "Jump!" he jumped.

If he has a tape recorder, he probably borrowed it.

․If she is not at home, she has probably gone to the market.

․If they finished dinner early tonight, they're probably watching television now.

․If he was at school yesterday, I didn't see him.

․If she did what you say, she has done wrong.

I hope (that) he will recover/recovers soon.

[참고] hope that절에 will대신 would를 쓰는 것은 잘못이다.

․I wish (that) I had met her yesterday.

․I wish (that) I had a million dollars.

․I wish (that) he would help me.

    (2) as if 절에 가정법이 쓰인다

He acts as if he were my teacher.

․She turned pale as if she had seen a ghost.

    (3) It is time that

It is time that we went to bed.

․It is hight time that we got started.

(Ex) ․He requested that she be promoted.

․He ordered that she leave at once.

․They moved that the meeting be adjourned.

․It is important that she be left alone.

․The recommendation that she be promoted has not been accepted.

    (1) If I have the money, I will take a vacation.(미래조건)

    (2) If I had the money,I would take a vacation.(현재의 가정)

    (3) If I had had the money, I would have taken a vacation.(과거의 반대사실)

iii. 결제절의 시제인 조동사의 과거형(would/could/might 등)+완료부정사(have + pp) 시제」를 제3 조건시제라고도 한다.

․If he had taken my advice, he would be richer now.

If he knew me well, he wouldn't have said that.

He would buy the dictionary, but (that) he hasn't enough money.

=He would buy the dictionary if he had enough money.

[참고] 갖고 있지 않은 것이 사실이니까 He hasn't enough money는 직설법 시제고, 사실이 아닌 if he had enough money는 가정법 과거 시제가 쓰이고 있다는 것을 주목하면 되는 것이다.

    read, write,

    learn, play

    reading, writing, learning, playing

    * 동명사의 기능:

Mastering English grammar is very difficult.

Loving is giving and taking.

I like playing guitar.(타동사 like의 목적어)

I'm looking forward to seeing you again.(전치사 to의 목적어)

    for/by oneself

    i) without other's help 혼자힘으로

    ii) alone 홀로

    beside oneself

in spite of oneself 자신도 모르게

    of itself 저절로

예컨데, ‘I could run five miles a day five years ago.’

A: What are you doing on Christmas?
B: I haven’t decided anything. I could go to my parent’s.

I could have gone to the movies.

만약 “내가 could가 have p.p.

“You could have called me. Why didn’t you?”
They could have got married earlier.

반대로 ‘She couldn’t have done the robbery.’

I would take care of my little brother when my parents went out in the evenings.

Peter said he [will / would] have pancakes for breakfast.

Peter said he would have pancakes for breakfast.

Peter says he will have pancakes for breakfast.

Peter thought that if he [eats / ate] pancakes, he[will / would] need maple syrup.

Peter thought that if he ate pancakes, he would need maple syrup.

Peter thinks that if he eats pancakes, he will need maple syrup.

Would you like some coffee?
I’d like something to drink.( 뭐 마실 것 좀 주세요.)
