<Morning words>
let out: (울음)소리를 내다,  chicken out: 겁먹고 그만두다, 꽁무니 빼다,  zone out:의식을 잃다, 멍해지다.

<Figure out:알아내다>
As a noun, the word figure very often relates to numbers or statistics. As a verb, it means to try to understand. So figure out means look at, examine some situation, try to understand it.

I can't figure out Mike. 난 마이크를 이해할 수 없어.
go figure~~ 와~~ 대단해요~~

<Take out: 밖에 내놓다>

You know, very often we've mentioned, a lot of these expressions we practice have several different definitions. This one, take out that we're practicing today, means to remove to the outside something that is inside. Simply carry with your hands outside of the building, outside of the room.

take out 밖에 내놓다  <--> take in
Don't take it out on me! 나에게 화풀이 하지마!
I'll take out the trash after dinner. 저녁 먹고 쓰레기 내놓을게.

<Sit out:건너뛰다, ~하지않다.>

To sit out is to not do something. Perhaps you all know the expression pass. "No, no, not me. pass, pass, pass" Next time instead of pass you might say "Oh I'll sit out this one"

Tim will sit out two games with a knee injury. 팀은 무릎 부상으로 두 경기를 쉴 거야.

<John's recap>

A few years ago, Gildong and I were roommates. We always had the problem of who's gonna wash the dishes, who's gonna clean the refrigerator. We had to figure out a list of chores and who's gonna do that.
Gildong said, "Hey John, why don't you take out the trash?"
I thought, "It's rainy outside. I'm not gonna take out the trash if it's raining."
I thought, "No, no, no, I'll sit out that chore. Maybe next week sometime I'll take out the trash."
