1. joke around
To joke, of course, is to play. Now of course we can tell a funny story which might
be known as a joke. But sometimes if we're not behaving seriously if perhaps there's
a serious situation. But our behavior or language is not serious. That might be scene
as a joking around as well.

2. waltz around

Ah, well of course, waltz music and waltz dancing, we know that the waltz is very elegant
and very beautiful dance. It takes a lot of skill to waltz around. Now of course on the dance
floor you may waltz around showing your ability but sometimes we waltz around not
with our feet, not with dancing but with our words. We use our words. We speak
in a very skillful way. To waltz around something meaning we don't really deal with it.
We avoid the subject in a very skillful way.

3. twist around

To twist around, well of course let's imagine for a moment. You have a rope or
a string in your hand and you want to wind that string around something.
Wind around, twist around they are very similar in that case. Twist around then
is to wind. Of course it does also mean very similar to become confused.
Oh I'm twisted around. I don't know what's going on. My mind is counfused.

Life Style Tips

Now I guess according to culture, people like different styles of humor.
They say that Russian people like their humor very dark. American go for the big laugh.
And the Brits, they like very dry, very dry humor. In China they don't really care of
something is an old joke or if they heard many times before, because in fact
the Chinese value your delivery style, the technique more than the subject.

Recap

Hey, Jake, you know that 길동 has a very good sense of humor but sometimes
he pushes a little bit too far. He likes to joke around a lot. And when there's
a very serious issue I guess maybe he shouldn't joke around too much. The other day
민희 was quite upset at him because they had a serious problem to handle and
길동 just wouldn't confront it. He kept trying to waltz around an issue and he wouldn't
face the problem very well. 민희 got very upset. She said "I don't understand
why you're such a goofy guy. You goof around all the time and you're never serious."
But 길동 got upset. He said "Why? Why do you criticize me? Don't twist around
my words. I'm just trying to make a nice atmosphere."
I hope they'll work out this problem.

Have a nice weekend!
