I know that your.. the woman in your life would be all gung ho to go and do that.

But suddenly a problem might develop.

Maybe your boss at work demands that you show up and work overtime.

In that case you’d better fabricate a good excuse.

You’d better come up with some broken bones or something like that.

Work is not always an acceptable excuse.
