I was born of kind parents, my character is vividly.
Until the time I graduated from high school, I was just a hard - working student studying for the university
entrance exam. I thought being an obeying son a polite student, and a nice friends meant everything in life. Everyone including myself was certain that I would pass the entrance exam. Then, I was confronted with my first failure, came to the failure. With the failure, came the shock from which I soon recovered and I started to reflect on myself and found out things I didn't know about myself. Till then, I was always ahead of everyone and my arrogance prevented me from thinking of others behind me. I also realized the need to keep on trying even harder when I think it' enough. During that period, I wasn't driven into despair, on the contrary, the one - year period became the turning point in my life.

I successfully completed this course and obtained NAATI(National Accepted Accreditation of Trading and Interpreting) license at the same time. Even though it was very lonely and gard time to live abroad, I was excited to have new experience, studying in U.S.A, is very helpful for my life in many ways.
As I am just now stepping into the new world, I am very excited to expose my abilities. Although I received my B.S. in Engineering physics, I have a passion for literature. My present favorite author is James Joyce. My musical taste varies from Classical(Wagner is my favorite) to country(Collin Ray), and practically everything in between. I suppose I try to see the best in everything. It's difficult to bore me because of this. Even when presented with bad material, I will always try to find something interesting in it.
This page is actually maintained under the auspice of the Material Science Semiconductor Interface Laboratory. I work here and my present project is the modelling of PtSi on Si. There are some interesting behavior that were observed in the STM of a sample of PtSi//Si, and we do not know how to explain it. Therefore, we are trying to model it on the computer to see if we can match the results we got.
My hobbies are rather few, but I tend to put a lot of effort into these. They are less so hobbies as they are avocations. I am a military aviation buff. So much so that at least one of my former girlfriends broke up with me because of it. She said:"You love your airplanes more than you love me!". But what is love? I do believe she is mistaken . Life Goes on nonetheless, and I rarely look back upon my past with regret. I prefer to press on toward my goals without the hinderance of any regret. Especially since now my present girlfriend is a wonderful person, and just a great woman all around. (mostly because she indulges my little hobbies;) )
Another hobby of mine is cooking. I consider myself to be an above average chef, and have developed some of my own recipes. It's fun to play around in the kitchen. It's a good thing that I don't have a family, because they will have to put up with my experiments. It usually turns out alright, but on occasions even I couldn't stomach it. If you have any cool recipes that you are willing to share, e-mail it over to me.
The hobby on which I spend the most time, however, has got to be reading. I am an avid reader, and prefer a broad range of topics. From linguistics to history; from technical to religious. My own library is relatively extensive, and if you know me personally, I'm willing to lend to you anything in my collection.
I am somewhat musically inclined. Besides my preferences in listening to music, I also try to cultivate an ability to make music. My present project is to learn how to play harmonica. I have a relatively eclectic past music career, and I think I have benefitted from them in that they have widened my perception and appreciation for more forms of music. Upon reflection I realize that most of my listening preferences actually stemmed from my playing experiences. I never really got into ragged or rap. Perhaps the reason would be that I've never experienced these two genre on a creative and recreative setting, whereas I love classical music and blues, because I know them on an intimate as well as technical basis.

왠지 우울하고 심란할 때 뭐라고 말하세요？ "기분이 안 좋아" "우울해" 같은 전통적(？) 표현을 하고 있지만 요즘은 "꿀꿀해"라고 많이들 하죠. 그렇다면 이 '꿀꿀하다'는 것을 영어로는 어떻게 말할 수 있을까요？여러 가지 표현이 있지만 미국인들이 흔히 쓰는 표현으로 be bummed out이 가장 어울립니다. bum은 bad와 같은 의미로 쓰이는 속어인데요,"I'm bummed (out)"이라고 하면 "꿀꿀해" "기분 별로야"라는 뜻이 됩니다.

'노래？되지！ 춤？되지！ 몸매？되지이~' '건강한 섹시미'를 유감없이 발휘하고 있는 가수 이효리가 한 아이스크림 광고에서 했던 말이죠. 이효리처럼 노래도 되고, 춤도 되고, 몸매도 되고, 또 거기다가 영어까지도 되면 얼마나 좋을까요？ 몸짱 열풍이 여전한데 몸매가 된다는 말을 알아보죠. '몸매'는 figure를 써서 표현하는데 '몸매가 된다'는 것은 몸매가 좋다는 말이니 "I've got a nice[fine] figure"라고 할 수 있습니다.
보통 "또 한 번 …하면"과 같은 말 다음에는 "죽어！" "한 대 맞을 줄 알아！"와 같은 응징의 대사가 나오게 마련입니다. 하지만 몇 년 전 한 공익광고에서는 실수를 한 사람의 행동을 덮어 주는 의외의 반응이 이어졌습니다. 아니, 발을 밟은 괘씸한 사람에게 데이트를 신청하겠다니…. 그런 의외성 때문에 이 멘트가 인기를 끌었는지도 모르겠는데요, 여기서의 포인트는 "다시 그랬다가는 ~하겠다"이죠.뒤에 나오는 상황에 따라 얼마든지 바꿔 쓰시면 되고요. 그럼 "다시 그랬다가는/또 한 번만 ~하면"은 어떻게 영어로 옮기면 될까요？ "If you do that one more time …"이라고 하면 되겠습니다.
'더 이상의 설명은 필요 없다''이제 더 말하지 않아도 알겠다'는 의미로 한 시트콤 출연자가 즐겨 썼던 말이지요. 이 말은 영어로 어떻게 할까요？상황에 따라 조금씩 다르게 표현할 수 있겠지만'더 이상 말하지 마'라는 의미로 "Say no more"라고 할 수도 있고,'그만하면 충분하다'는 뜻에서 "That's enough"라고 해도 되겠습니다.
